Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile
At the end of April and beginning of May 1968 The Jimi Hendrix Experience were recording their third and last album Electric Ladyland. The work took place in Record Plant Studios In New York.

Franz Clement was a talented violinist contemporary of Beethoven. He was a wonder child, performing and directing at the age of 9. Uncontested fame of a virtuoso, together with the position of the Director of the Orchestra at the Vienna Theatre, gave him a rare privilege of being the person, who organised yearly benefit concertos, during which he could present the music of his choice. First time I heard Besame Mucho when I was still a boy. I’ve listened to it many times after that. Somehow it didn’t impress me much. With time I started to appreciate it. Finally Besame Mucho became one of my favourites pieces thanks to Cesaria Evora. Her magnificent rendition pulled the right string of my soul. The author of both music and lyrics is Consuelo Velazquez from Mexico. She wrote the piece in 1940 when she was 16. She was inspired by aria from ‘Maria Del... Little Red Rooster When Willie Dixon began his job at the Chess Records he also started writing blues songs for other performers that he wanted to acquire for the Chess. He recorded them as well, only later. It was unique in the world of blues where every artist recorded his songs first. There simply weren’t any professional composers writing for others.
