The moon theme is a gracious one. It’s not only poets, that associate it with nice feelings. I believe it is worth, therefore, to present yet another song with the Moon in its title.

The authors of this song are Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart who were, in late 1920s, the leading composers of musicals, which were written for the Broadway and London theatres, but this industry was also affected by the Big Crisis of 1929 – 1933. Rogers and Hart turned to Hollywood...

When the Levee Breaks In 1927 the Mississippi river overflowed. The flood had a severe impact, but the state of Mississippi suffered most, especially its Delta area. Whole towns were destroyed as well as agriculture, the base of income for many people from that area. Tens of thousands of colored people were forced to leave their homes and head to the cities.
