Druga płyta Turquoise jest zdecydowanie bardziej urozmaicona od swojej poprzedniczki. Zespół wzbogacił swoje utwory i przeszedł zmiany personalne. Śpiewająca na poprzednim albumie Katarzyna Jajko gości na Po drugiej stronie jedynie w Testament Sel’entinell... jako chórzystka. Do składu dokooptowano za to dwie nowe wokalistki - Lilię Wojciechiwską i Agnieszkę Dudek oraz wokalistę Jacka Galanta.

Grupa dalej uprawia „neoprogresywny” rock, ale tym razem czasami zahacza o wręcz metalowe klimaty. Album Turquoise był mocno przesłodzony i trochę zbyt monotonny. Na Po drugiej stronie ostrzejsze brzmienia mieszają się z łagodniejszymi, ładnymi melodiami, często zmieniają się nastroje, efektownie wypada sztafeta głosów męskiego i kobiecych (podzielona na cztery części Suita d-minor). Prolog i Epilog, odegrane na organach kościelnych składaja się na stosowną „klamrę”...

Na płycie mogą podobać się lżejsze utwory, zdominowane przez śpiew wokalistek (Desiderata, Pieśń Aayrne). Natomiast Spotkanie zostało wykonane przez Jacka Galanta mniej przekonująco... W ogóle trudno się oprzeć wrażeniu, że jest jeszcze zbyt surowym wokalistą, jak na manierę, którą sobie wybrał. Po tej stronie, także zaśpiewane przez Galanta należy do mocniejszych numerów z tej płyty, ale i tak zespołowi w jego wcieleniu heavy najbliżej jest do metalowej komercji lat osiemdziesiątych... Teksty mają najwyraźniej służyć „uartystycznieniu” propozycji grupy, przewijają się w nich tematy śmierci i miłości (Pieśń Aayrne, Po tamtej stronie, IV Testament), ale trudno mi doszukać się prawdziwego artyzmu, czy choćby świeżości. Wersy o pewnym wdzięku, jak ten: chcę być ptakiem, byle w twoich dłoniach (Głos serca), pojawiają się zbyt rzadko.

Niemniej zwolelnnicy rodzimego art rocka powinni się tą płytą zainteresować. ---Łukasz Wewiór, terazrock.pl

Turquoise is a polish progressive rock band that goes rather unnoticed in prog world, even in Poland they are almost unknown, with 3 albums released so far, they confirm with their second album relased in 2003 named Po Drugiej Stronie that they have talent . The duo female/male on this album is good and shows a mature orentation of the band into more deeper folky realms then before, but also combined with typical polish neo prog arrangements , not far from Quidam. This release has almost all ingredients to be a succesful album in this zone, good keyboards, acustic and more edgy guitar parts, beautiful and sensual female voice, specialy on Desiderata or Spotkanie with the excellent ending guitar solo, not far from almost prog metal attitude. In their roots Turqoise is a folk band, at least to my ears but combines so well the elements from this style with neo prog parts, that in the end the conclusion is , that doesn't matter in what genre are you puted the result is more then ok and even great in places. So, a pleasent album, not quite fantastic but most of the time pleasent , even I didn't catch any of the words spoken ore sung here. Fans of Quidam, Karnataka, Mostly Autumn or even Yes can listen to Turquoise without fear. Great cover art IMO. --- b_olariu, progarchives.com
