"Ma plus belle histoire d'amour" has been written by Barbara in 66 after Bobino, to thank her audience for its faithfulness and for its veneration. Playing herself piano, dressed in black velvet, behind her instrument, with a sober orchestration behind, mostly cello and accordion, very close to Jacques Brel, Barbara is the major female singer and songwriter in the french speaking world of the 60 and 70'. the combination of her voice with the piano, her musical sense, her stage presence, her poetical inspiration is really unique. And "unique" is not in this case a commun word. She really was so. Ma plus belle histoire is among her masterpieces like Gottingen, Marienbad, Chanson pour une absente, Le mal de vivre, Pierre, Dis, quand reviendras-tu ? and so on... --- christian le gall, amazon.com
