This disc was released before the more advanced methods of remastering were available. That said that recordings are wonderful despite being a little low on volume. The recordings of La Valse, Alborado and Daphnis et Chloe are far superior to the French National Orchestra versions that are currently available on other labels. La Valse with the New York Philharmonic is especially beautiful and magical. The opening two mists nearly come out of the mists of France of the past. Bernstein and the delicate playing of New York is a great treat. A great disc if you can get one and do get one before they are gone. --- Brian F Hudon, amazon.com
