Lauren Bush is a Canadian singer living in London and she is currently seducing the London Jazz scene with her talents as a scat singer. She performs in Jazz festivals in Texas, Canada and the USA. Bill Quinn Sunday Morning Sunshine, Metromedia Radio described her talent as follows: “Lauren Bush uses her voice as well as any master musician. It’s a perfection unforced, finely tuned with the rest of her band.”
Born and brought up in Canada Lauren moved to London three years ago to pursue her career in singing. Lauren is the daughter of an established trumpet player and a music teacher so it’s no surprise that Lauren grew up with a passion for music. For many years her music was just a hobby, until 2004, when she joined the auditions for the University Big Band after which there was no turning back and her career in the world of Jazz music began.
Lauren travelled throughout North America performing with her quartet for two editions of the Corpus Christi Jazz Festival and at the Victoria International Jazz Festival. At Idaho Jazz Festival she shared the stage with Bobby McFerrin and sang at Handy Park in New Orleans.
Since living in London Lauren has performed at the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall and was a finalist at the Riga Jazz Stage in Lithuania.
In 2010 Lauren’s quartet recorded her first demo with new arrangements of standards such as "Softly, as in a morning Sunrise" and "When You're Smiling". Three of these songs were played on the air on the air by Metromedia Radio in New York an on radio stations in London. The social media network also showed its appreciation for Lauren’s talent with over 120,000 views of the song “Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise”.
Since her arrival in London Lauren has performed to enthusiastic audiences in a number of jazz clubs, establishing her popularity on the London Jazz scene, where she is applauded for her scat singing techniques. --- laurenbushjazz.com
