This live recording by Italian Paolo Fresu, Moroccan Dhafer Youssef and Norwegian Eivind Aarset is amazing. Each artist is a leading light in contemporary jazz and world music, all highly innovative and accessible. Fresu's horn playing is reminiscent of later Miles Davis, he also uses judicious electronics to expand his sonic wall. Dhafer often accompanies his oud with soaring and ethereal vocal gymnastics, and Aarset completes the sound weave with his fantastic guitar playing, hanging electronic fragments off his notes.
