Through dedication, and years of relentless touring on several continents, Daniel Eriksen has built a reputation as a great slide guitarist. His style of dirty Mississippi delta blues, infused with New Orleans rhythms, gospel and boogie, has brought him many fans around the world. In addition to having studied the old masters of slide, like Blind Willie Johnson and Mississippi Fred McDowell, Eriksen has learned firsthand from modern masters such as Roy Rogers, Bob Brozman and John Mooney.

The old gospel blues reportoire of artists such as Blind Willie Johnson, Fred McDowell, Son House, Charlie Patton, Josh White, Rev. Gary Davis and others, has always fascinated Daniel Eriksen. The gospel blues themes are darker and more desperate than regular blues tunes, it's almost as if they are more blues than blues itself. The noose is already around your neck and they are counting down! There's nowhere left to turn. In these songs you will meet killers on death row, desperate men without hope, drunkards, thieves and other doomed people with nowhere left to turn...

Eriksen has shared the stage with artists such as Lazy Lester, James Harman, John Mooney & Bluesiana, Rick Danko, Eden Brent, Linda Gail Lewis, Phil Guy, Grayson Capps, Curtis Eller, Fiona Boyes, Bill Abel, Mickey Rogers, Vidar Busk, Stephen Ackles, Reidar Larsen, Rita Engedalen, Jimmy "Duck" Holmes, Bill "Howl-n-Madd" Perry and many others.

He has opened shows for B.B. King, John Mayall, Omar & The Howlers, Eric Sardinas, Robert Plant, The Yardbirds and Roy Rogers.

In 2006 he released his debut CD «Ya Ya», which recieved great reviews from critics and fans alike. In 2010 Eriksen released his second album , «Muddy Days», also to rave reviews. The new rocking EP "Grey Goose", recorded at Sun Studio in Memphis, is out now. ---Album Notes, cdbaby.com
