America's Got Talent winner guitarist/vocalist Michael Grimm delivers a passionate set of soul and blues on his 2010 effort, Leave Your Hat On. His first release since winning AGT, the album features Grimm singing and playing some of his favorite Southern soul songs. Included are such tunes as "You Got Me Hummin'" (featuring Bill Medley), "Down in the Valley," and "Try a Little Tenderness." ---Matt Collar, AllMusic Review
It was an honor for Michael Grimm to share the stage with such inspirational singers as Bill Medley, Nikki Logan, McKenna Medley, B Soul, Abe LaMarca, Tyriq Johnson and Bob Gulley. Michael has always wanted to do a live CD with a horn section and it was a privilege for him to work with some great musicians. It gives him great pleasure to introduce to you "Delta Bound and the Big Easy Horns" Enjoy! ---cdbaby.com
If you really like soul music, rhythm and blues, and rocking blues, try to imagine all the best voices of these musical categories blended together in one voice (Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Al Green, Solomon Burke, think even of Joe Cocker or Michael Bolton, etc.)and you have the phemomenal talent of Michael Grimm. I bought this because I had heard him sing on "America's Got Talent" and since then I've played it a hundred times (with my wife's permission). This CD is live and feels like it. Great band, great background vocalists, and great guest vocalists. Sound production on this CD is sweet. I can honestly say there isn't a bad track on the album. Based on this CD alone, I've already pre-ordered his new release on Epic Records. Bring it on!!! ---George K. Dilworth, amazon.com
