B. B. & The Blues Shacks ist eine Bluesband, die sich ganz dem Blues der 40er und 50er Jahre verschrieben hat. Heimat der Band ist Hildesheim. Die Band spielt verschiedene Bluesarten wie Chicago-Blues, Louisiana-Blues oder Delta-Blues der 40er und 50er Jahre und überzeugt besonders bei Liveauftritten mit virtuosem Spiel und hoher Spiellaune. Es werden Stücke ihrer Vorbilder wie Sonny Boy Williamson oder T-Bone Walker interpretiert, aber auch jede Menge Eigenkompositionen die sehr an diesem Stil angelehnt sind. Im Laufe der Jahre haben sie auch mit vielen amerikanischen Bluesmusikern wie R. J. Mischo, Kid Ramos oder Smokey Wilson gespielt. Seit Gründung hat die Band mehr als 1500 Konzerte in Deutschland, Europa und den USA gespielt.

B.B. & The Blues Shacks hail from Hildesheim in Germany, and are one of Europe’s leading blues and roots bands. Deeply rooted in 1940s and 50s jump blues, they are well-known for their original blend of swinging and grooving blues. B.B. & The Blues Shacks are lead singer, Michael Arlt, his brother Andreas Arlt on guitar, Henning Hauerken on upright bass and electric bass, Dennis Koeckstadt on piano and organ, and Bernhard Egger on drums and percussion. The BBs, as the quintet is lovingly called by their many fans, have received numerous honours and awards including Best European Blues Band and a German Record Critic’s Award for their 2008 album Unique Taste. They play more than 100 gigs a year all over Europe and will no doubt thrill the crowd with their smokin’ performance at Bluesfest.
