Jeff Beck's studio album of 2010 wasn't for everyone taste: great jazz-rock guitarist recorded melodic well-balanced blues-rock and pop-rock release with some great (if not vintage) classic rock songs.Guest female vocalists, some professional, but dated rock solos, pleasant atmosphere and no even traces of searching of something new.

This small live album for dedicated auditory was recorded later same year and mostly contains songs from last album. So, it will be strange to expect something seriously different from it. Few more earlier songs added as well, but it only make this live release more classic.

If you was heavily disappointed by this year's Beck's studio album, possibly you'd better avoid this one as well. There are some differences still. Live album is played in much more jazz-rock manner, with more inspired guitar and sounds mostly as old time jazz-rock band (just few orchestrated moments are different). With bigger attention to instrumental side and almost no vocals at all, I really prefer this release to his bigger studio brother: controversial soul and r'n'b vocals are gone, all songs are really more jazzy and less pop-rock oriented. Sound is warm, public dedicated, and all concert sounds as really pleasant listening. For sure, there are no place for innovation and experiments though.

If you're jazz-rock fan,are interested in current Jeff Beck's works and still didn't listen this years releases, better chose this live album. If you really liked his studio work of 2010, possibly you will enjoy this live one even more. But this album could not be recommended to anyone with hate to vintage bluesy jazz-rock from 70-s though, you will hardly find there any progress from the sound of that period. ---snobb, progarchives.com
