For Blaster, his first solo album in seven years, Scott Weiland headed into the studio with his new backing band called the Wildabouts — they previously supported the singer on his "Purple at the Core" 2013 tour, where he sang hits from the Stone Temple Pilots — and producer Rick Parker, who previously worked with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Tyler Hilton, and the Hangmen. Together, they got back to Weiland's basics, kicking out a record that drew heavily on the psychedelic and glam sounds that have long been his obsessions while retaining the fresh, infectious spirit of a brand-new band. --- itunes.apple.com
