Kuschelrock, Vol. 1 is a schizophrenic double-disc collection of well-known pop/rock hits ranging from the '50s all the way up through the '80s. The problem isn't that the music here isn't memorable, it's just that much of it doesn't sit well together. Later entries in this series tend to stick more to one era, but this one is a bit of a disconcerting listen. ---Steve Huey, AllMusic Review
