Suzanna Owiyo is a Kenyan musician. A singer-songwriter, Owiyo has been called "the Tracy Chapman of Africa". Suzanna’s music is a fusion of traditional western Kenyan music and contemporary rhythms. Traditional instruments (nyatiti, orutu, etc.) always feature in her songs as heard on “Janyau”, the first track of her new album Yamo Kudho (the wind is blowing).

Suzanna Owiyo jest artystką z Kenii, śpiewa i gra na nyatiti. Jest to instrument, na którym w Kenii wolno było grać jedynie mężczyznom. Jednak Suzannie tak się spodobał ten instrument, że nic nie mogło jej powstrzymać.

Płyta "My Roots" jest podróżą do korzeni,w którą artystka zabiera swoich słuchaczy. Są na niej zawarte utwory, do których sama napisała muzykę i słowa. ---folk24.pl
