Born 20 June 1943 in Warszawa, Poland. Polish singer, guitarist and composer. He debuted at the „Szukamy Młodych Talentów” contest in 1961. A year later he became a finalist of „I Festiwal Młodych Talentów” in Szczecin. He collaborated with Czarno Czarni and Chochoły. In 1964 he became interested with jazz and sang standards with the Janusz Zabiegliński Swingtet and Włodzimierz Nahorny Trio. He was awarded his first prize at SFJ Jazz Nad Odrą in Wrocław in 1967 in the vocalists category. At MFMJ Jazz Jamboree’67 in Warsaw he performed as a participant of the „Nowe twarze w polskim jazzie” program. At the same time, he was collaborating with rock bands such as Tajfuny and Połanie. He also recorded solo works with the Radiowe Studio Rytm orchestra.

From 1969-71, he collaborated with Grupa ABC. In 1971 he formed his own band – Test, toured with them and recorded music for the TV show „Wojna domowa”. He went on to appear in films including „Dwa Żebra Adama” (J.Morgenstern), „Molo” (W.Solorz), „Piłkarski poker” (J. Zaorski) and „Złoty środek” (O.Lubaszenko). He recorded numerous pieces for the RP Archive. He realized TV recitals including „Love Me Tender” and „Party”. He performed at Old Rock Meeting in Sopot in 1986 and 1987, Country Music Fan Fair in Nashville in 1989 and Trzy Dekady Polskiego Rocka in Sopot in 1991. In 2000, he recorded the theme song for the popular TV series „M jak miłość”. On 17th November 2010 a new album by Wojciech Gąssowski appeared, titled "I Wish You Love". --- discogs.com
