Inspired by the classic chansons of Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, and Françoise Hardy, Les Passagers is the second album from French singer/songwriter Elise Pottier, aka Berry. Produced by Eumir Deodato (Björk, k.d. lang), the follow-up to 2008's Mademoiselle features songs penned by the likes of Chokebore frontman Troy Von Balthazar ("Like a River") and French rock veteran Daniel Darc (the Iggy Pop-referencing title track), alongside the lead single "Si C'est la Vie." ---Jon O'Brien, AllMusic Review

Berry is a critically acclaimed French singer/songwriter whose jazz-inflected style of music is rooted deeply in the tradition of chanson française. Born Élise Pottier, she made her full-length album debut in 2008 with Mademoiselle on Mercury Records. A collaboration with composer/producer Manou, plus producers Lionel Dudognon and Erwin Autrique, Mademoiselle was critically acclaimed upon its release and was ultimately nominated for a 2009 Victoires de la Musique award in the category of Album Révélation de l'Année (i.e., Best Album by a New Artist). Spawning a series of singles including "Le Bonheur," "Demain," and "Mademoiselle," the album charted throughout much of 2008, peaking at number 34, and was reissued late in the year in a collector's edition with bonus material. ---Jason Birchmeier, allmusic.com
