Argentinean singer/songwriter and actor Silvestre began studying music at the age of six, taking piano and guitar lessons, and soon he was composing his first songs. In the early '70s, local producer Roque Llacomo got him a record deal and the artist started using the nickname of Silvestre, based on a popular cartoon the singer used to watch when he was a child. As an actor, Silvestre, born José Luis Rodríguez, made his debut in a television show called Los Hermanos Torterolo, later participating in the musical Amor Sin Barreras and getting a role in a soap opera called Julián de Madrugada. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
