CD 6 sees Bobby Hackett arriving to play lead, as well as six solos originally made for the "Teddy Wilson School For Pianists". Wilson's mixture of lyricism and vigour is almost unique in the jazz of the period and it suggests a path which jazz doctrine has seldom explored since.
