Having become the first ever band to reach the semi finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2012 following up with a performance for Her Majesty The Queen as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and performances for both the Olympic and Paralympic celebrations, The Jive Aces have truly established themselves as the UK's top Jive & Swing band.
Together for over a decade, this extremely popular six piece group have performed at thousands of festivals, theatres and events throughout the UK, Europe and USA, as well as Japan, Israel, South Africa, Morrocco and the Caribbean, 30 countries in all. The Jive Aces are renowned for their high energy Jump Jive music (the exciting sound where Swing meets Rock ‘n Roll) and spectacular stage show.
They combine a mixture of fresh arrangements of swing/Jive/R&B classics - songs made famous by such greats as Louis Prima, Cab Calloway, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Big Joe Turner and Sammy Davis Jnr - along with a selection of superb swinging originals taken from their studio albums. --- jiveaces.com
The Jive Aces are back with another great album. Comprising Ian Clarkson on vocals and trumpet, Ken Smith on double bass, Vince Hurley on piano, Peter Howell on drums, John Fordham on saxophone and lastly, Alex Douglas on trombone this band has now gone on to having an international fan base, no easy feat these days.
With twelve great tracks here this Jive and Swing band that are renowned for their Jump Jive high energy act will have you on your feet with this album and have you dancing away. If you enjoy old style music then you can’t really go wrong with this. With original tracks as well as some fantastic cover versions whatever this group plays they put their own inimitable mark on it.
Of course with an album you don’t get quite the atmosphere of seeing and hearing this group live, but with them travelling all over the world that isn’t always possible. Fun, energetic and always ideal to dance to this album makes for great listening either privately or for background music for a party or barbecue, where everyone can relax and let their hair down (or if a wig, take it off). ---M.
