Anthony Wonsey — piano;
Christian McBride — bass;
Carl Allen — drums.

Throughout this fine trio outing with bassist Christian McBride and drummer Carl Allen, pianist Anthony Wonsey demonstrates his expertise in straight-ahead jazz. His very interesting repertoire includes four Bud Powell tunes, two originals, Nicholas Payton's "Herbie's Hands," Hank Jones' catchy "We're All Together" and a pair of standards. Wonsey sometimes sounds close to Powell, while at other times, he lets his own musical personality shine through. Excellent music in the bop mainstream. --- Scott Yanow, Rovi
