Enrico Pieranunzi is surely the sole pianist on the international musical stage able to claim a double affiliation with both Jazz & Classical music. With the collaboration of André Ceccarelli (piano) and Diego Imbert (bass), in 2016 he recorded his previous album « ménage à trois » which was already depicting the co-existence of his wife (the classical music) with his mistress (the jazz music). After the international success of this previous album « ménage à trois », it was natural that Enrico Pieranunzi, along with the same trio, devote his new album to Claude Debussy, one of his favorite composers, in commemoration of the centenary of the death of this fantastic artist. For such a jazz tribute, the Enrico Pieranunzi Trio also invited on some tracks two artists: David El Malek (saxophone) and Simona Severini (vocal).

Monsieur Claude - [A Travel with Claude Debussy] contains eleven tracks composed principally by Enrico Pieranunzi and inspired by the musical works of Claude Debussy, such as Valse Romantique, Ballade, La fille aux cheveux de lins that respectively become Bluemantique, L’autre ballade et Cheveux.

This musical journey with Claude Debussy is notable for its beauty, lyricism and delicateness. This album also demonstrates Pieranunzi’s absolute respect for Claude Debussy. In this regard Pieranunzi claims in his open letter (reproduced in the booklet): “the ultimate meaning of this letter simply lies in the desire to explain you the unconditional admiration that your art has always produced in me and my faithful musical friends”.

The cover of this album, a splendid illustration by Emiliano Ponzi, cultivates the mystery and the romance of Claude Debussy. Monsieur Claude - [A Travel with Claude Debussy] is certainly the most original jazz project dedicated to the memory of Claude Debussy. ---enricopieranunzi.it
