If we speak about Yulia Roma – it is not just a new vocal album. This is truly an author work. What is the sparkle here, you might ask? And it is that this is a Ukrainian-language jazz album – and exactly Yulia Roma is the author of not only the music but also all the lyrics (a booklet with them, by the way, is added to the release). Such an exclusive thing. And if till recently Yulia was often referred to as the best in Ukraine singer of the Brazilian music – now such definition, obviously, becomes rather limited. Indisputably – it is nice.. For the first time I heard several songs from this program about a couple of years ago – and since then I already could not calmly expect for appearance of the disc. Because this was – incredible, indescribably beautiful, some unearthly experiencing of harmony, beauty, Mystery. And now it seems to me that Yulia succeeded in conjuring in the studio – to the extent that this is possible at all – the magic with which the concert performance was saturated. Well, sure, not only she – the musicians of whom the Ukrainian scene has been proud justly and for a long time were involved into recording of the album. A strong team. And all of them together have created, so to say, the Ukrainian specific color of a new type, without direct quoting from folklore*. But – the root is very tangible. Real modern Ukrainian music. Transparent and elusive, strong and fragile – Mystery...---Anton Jozhik Leyba (Hedgehog), umka.com
