In its 25-year career the PJB has recorded for radio and television in Poland, Germany, Belgium and Holland. In 1996 and 1997, in the monthly Jazz Forum poll (Jazz Top 96 and 97), the PJB was chosen the best Polish traditional jazz band. P.J.B. represented Polish Traditional Jazz in the series of concerts organised by the European Broadcasting Union (the EBU); the concert led by Andrzej Jaroszewski was put on the air live by 17 European broadcasting stations and was widely acclaimed by the audience.

The bands repertoire consists of dixieland, blues, swing and bebop as well as classical (A. Dworzak, J.S. Bach, Z. Fibich, F. Chopin) and light music (rumba, samba, bossanova). All the songs are performed in the style particular only to the Prowizorka Jazz Band and therefore it is so difficult to classify the band as any jazz trend; however, as far as many jazz critics and presenters claim, it could well be described as a traditional, happy-jazz band.

In 1988 the PJB recorded for the Polskie Nagrania the original in its sound "Vital" record made in cooperation with Andrzej Jagodziński (p), Tomasz Szukalski (ss), Kazimierz Jonkisz (perc.) and Roman Syrek (tb), which proves that traditional, bebop and swing musicians feel exceptionally good in the convention suggested by the Prowizorka Jazz Band.

In their professional career (from 1985 to 2006) the band cooperated with Andrzej Jagodziński (p), Roman Syrek (tb), Andrzej Antolak (ss), Jerzy Galiński (cl), Henryk Stefański (banjo) (g), Ryszard Kwaśniewski (cl) (ss), Paweł Tartanus (banjo) (g) (voc), Piotr "Bocian" Cieślikowski (ts), Janusz Witko (as), from 1985 non stop Stanisław Piotrowski (b) and from 1992 Jacek Korohoda (g); and finally, the two co-founders of the band who participated continuously right from the groups formation in 1981- Tomasz Sacha (kazoo, scat-vocal) and Jan Kalinowski (g).

The Prowizorka Jazz Band have performed together with the giants of traditional jazz music such as Acer Bilk, Chris Barber, Papa Blues Viking Jazz Band or Louisiana Ensemble New Orleans from the USA. ---cdbaby.com
