Prowizorka JB (Jazz Band) was created by Tomasz Sacha and Jan Kalinowski in Gniezno, Poland, in 1981. Initially the group played traditional jazz, gradually broadening musical profile into several directions, while preserving its unique, acoustic sound. Prowizorka was the first Polish jazz band to release a CD. Altogether the group has recorded over dozen LPs, and gave several hundred concerts, including participation to the most important European jazz festivals. In 2006, after the death of its frontman, playing kazoo and gebofon Tomasz Sacha, the group suspended its activities. Now Prowizorka JB is coming back with refreshed and newly composed material, as well as with several new members: Jan Kalinowski (guitar, in Prowizorka since 1981), Stanisław Piotrowski (bas, in Prowizorka since 1985), Jacek Korohoda (guitar, in Prowizorka since 1992) alongside three new musicians: Lech Popławski - vocal, Leszek Nowotarski – saxophone and Łukasz Sobczyk - drums. The new record (August 2012), an EP, entitled “To Hear The Music” presents Prowizorka’s own compositions. --- tohearthemusic.pl
