Canzoni E Danze Nelle Corti Italiane Tra Medioevo E Rinascimento
Live recording at Italia Mia, 24.9.2005

A foray through Italy’s Renaissance music. In this live recording of the festival "Italia Mia 2005” from the Herculesroom in Vienna's Liechtenstein Museum the renowned ensemble Micrologus from Asissi performed music from the 14th and 15th century under the motto "Maggio valente» (opulent May), thereby demonstrating the variety in the musical styles of the time: from folk song "hits" and love songs to dances as they were performed at the court of Ferrara to entertain the city's nobility. As a bonus Josquin’s famous chanson "El Grillo” (the cricket) can be found in a temperamental and typically Mediterranean interpretation on this SACD. --- shop.orf.at
