This is one of the rarer Blues Brothers CDs/LPs from their catalogue, it's a studio effort from most of the original Blues Brothers Band with Paul Shaffer. Released in 1992, it is done largely without either of the Blues Brothers (Jake/John Belushi having passed on almost a decade before its release) although Elwood Blues/Dan Ackroyd does vocals on the title track, and plays his harp on another, "You Can't Play the Blues (In An Air-Conditioned Room. It's good, if not great, stuff, but seems largely an effort for the remaining members of the band to cash in with some product, instead of their individual solo career efforts.
For those of us who can't get enough of the Blues Brothers stuff, I'd recommend this one *after* getting "The Blues Brothers Band-- Live In Montreaux" and "Blues Brothers & Friends-- Live from the House of Blues", but if you're just discovering the Blues Brothers after seeing one (or the other) of their movies, there are much better places for you to start listening, such as "The Blues Brothers Complete." ---Walter Five, amazon.com
