I had never heard of Linda Miles,an L.A. area vocalist prior to seeing her ad in The Living Blues Magazine,advertising this debut disc for sale,after ordering it I was immediately impressed by the vocal prowess of Linda Miles. The disc features 10 original tracks written by Chuck Duffy and Leonard Kallok,assisted by a multi talented ensemble of musicians performing stylish,house rockin' modern Blues. Miles vocals at times seem too echo a mid west vibe of a Shirley Johnson (Chicago veteran & Delmark recording artist) or/and at times Miles charm echo's the Southern sass of an Irma Thomas( New Orleans legend) all combined with an obviously church bred Gospel sensibility & vocal command. Linda Miles has been one of L.A.'s best kept secrets. In 1998, under the management and guidance of Frances Gavin, Linda embarked on a music career in the arena of blues rock, performing original tunes written by Chuck Duffy and Leonard Kallok.
