This, the bluesiest of her records, includes the nine-minute title track plus covers of Aretha's "Dr. Feelgood" and Big Mama Thorton's "Ball & Chain." ---Niles J. Frantz, allmusic.com
Singers like Trudy have had to duck and dive through many different musical styles in order to develop a repertoire for each type of audience that they are likely to be booked to entertain. Nothing wrong with that, it's what she's needed to do to bring in the bacon over the years. So, I've used some tracks from this Blues based album to establish a framework to add on other tracks so as to build up a satisfactory Mp3 file of 18 of her songs ( 77 minutes ) from her various albums, resulting in a selection of more hard hitting RnB and Blues styles than some of her other offerings. I've now got a good representation of stuff of her's that I like. The job is done and I like what I've got, really well performed songs with raw, emotional, attitudes. ---E. Kelly, amazon.com
