Vocals – Betty Lou DeMorrow

This LP is a real collector's item. Little is known about Hartman's Heart Breakers (the personnel is unknown) other than the fact that it was a country group that recorded in North Carolina with a young teenage vocalist who went by the name of Betty Lou. Betty Lou sings risque lyrics that are both cute and strangely sensuous while accompanied by the heated string band; one of the musicians plays the role of her leering partner. The music overall is memorable if heard in small doses but the ten selections (only a half-hour in length) released on this bright white album seems to only feature two or three different melodies and are certainly limited in their subject matter; such songtitles as "Feels So Good," "Give It Daddy to Me" and "Let Me Play with It" easily sum up the record. ---Scott Yanow, allmusic.com
