Young Texas guitarist Anson Funderburgh and veteran harpist Sam Myers got along so well during the making of this fine set that they got their act together and took it on the road. Happily, it remains there, with Myers deftly fronting Funderburgh's Rockets. Myers's booming voice and rocking harp and Funderburgh's crisp, tradition-laden lead guitar mesh beautifully here -- the disc features brash remakes of Myers's past triumphs "My Love Is Here to Stay" and "Poor Little Angel Child" and a host of fresh titles. ---Bill Dahl, Rovi
This is the first pairing of the legendary blues duo on record in 1985. And, the title of this album is chiseled into the late Sam Myers headstone. Fate would have it that Anson asked Sam to sit in one night when Funderburgh and the Rockets were playing one of Sam's favorite joints, The George Street Grocery in Jackson, Mississippi. The rest, as they say, is history. ---amazon.com
