Wędrujący wiatr to projekt w którym siły połączyli głównodowodzący Stworza i Pustoty. W wyniku tej kooperacji powstało 5 utworów umiejscowionych w klimacie tak zwanego atmospheric black metalu. Tyle szczegółów technicznych, skupmy się na tym co przynosi nam ten hulający między Rabką, a Olsztynem wiatr? Przede wszystkim opowieść, która zaczyna się gdzieś w miejscu, zdaje się pozbawionym na szczęście, wątpliwych uroków cywilizacji.

Te nieco ponad 41 minut muzyki niesie ze sobą przede wszystkim nieograniczoną przestrzeń. Nic w tym dziwnego wiatr jak to wiatr – wolny i nieskrępowany betonem miasta. I trochę mam wrażenie, że ta płyta ma być, czy w zasadzie jest – taką tęsknotą za wolnością. W tym wypadku kojarzoną z folklorem , który wzbraniając się przed kajdanami cywilizacji XXI wieku, wciąż pozostaje sobą. I tego właśnie – tak mi się wydaje – szuka nasz hulający wiatr. Znajduje – to najbardziej w tym istotne. Sporo tu nostalgii, ale na szczęście nie płaczliwej. Zarzucić tej płycie można to, że nic nowego nie wnosi. Tylko, że w tym wypadku słychać, że panowie stawiają na przekaz, a nie kruszenie murów muzycznej Bastylii. W niektórych miejscach „rozjeżdża mi się” wokal. I to tak naprawdę jedyna chyba rzecz do której się tutaj przyczepię. Mocny to debiut i mnie osobiście Wędrujący wiatr porwał. Mam nadzieję, że na jednej płycie projekt się nie skończy. Wędrujący Wiatr? Tam, gdzie Miesiąc opłakuje Świt? What...? I dare anyone that's not fluent in the Polish tongue to pronounce this album name... Or the band's name, for that matter. Pronunciation and language barriers aside, Wędrujący Wiatr is an atmospheric black metal band hailing from Poland with this album being their first and only release to date.

Now, usually when I talk about a band or album that I love I can get a little bit long-winded and unnecessarily poetic, but that hasn't happened with this album for some reason. For lack of a better explanation, this album quite frankly leaves me fairly dumbfounded. Obviously I can go into details about the sound of this album. I can tell you that the guitar riffs are as majestic as the vast wilderness, and the melodies are as pure as the forest air and flow adroitly. I can tell you that the harsh vocals are overflowing with unmatched raw, and genuine emotion. I can tell you that the acoustic sections are as beautiful and serene as the first night of winter snow. I can tell you all of these things, and use all of these metaphors and similes to try and accurately describe the sound of this album. And, while that may work, what I simply can not do is accurately put into words how this album makes me feel. So rare it is that an album literally stops my very stream of thought. Out of the thousands of albums (of any genre) I've heard in my life, I can count on one hand the amount of albums that have had this affect on me upon listening. When I listen to this album, it's as though nothing matters but the melodies, the notes, and the sounds spilling from the speakers of my headphones. As ridiculous as it may sound, this album leaves me entranced in a state of pure awe.

Before I being to ramble on even further, I'll start wrapping this up. Wędrujący Wiatr's debut release, with its majestic sound and nature-inspired atmosphere, is sure to please any fan of the Cascadian strain of atmospheric metal. With that being said (and with me being a huge fan of Wolves in the Throne Room, Skagos, and company), I feel as though this album trumps most anything else in the aforementioned genre. The only reason I scored it a 98 instead of a 100 is because the album clocks in at a measly 41 minutes. While that's not a problem for most people (and some people would prefer it as opposed to a gargantuan hour-plus album), I find this album ending just as quickly as it began. An extra 10 or 11 minutes would have really hit the spot for me. Regardless, this holds my title for the best album of 2013, as well as the title for best atmospheric black metal album I've ever heard. Seriously. Keep an eye out for Wędrujący Wiatr, because these guys clearly know what they're doing and I don't think we've heard the last of them. At least I hope we haven't. ---aethereal, metal-archives.com
