Dikanda, a world music band from Szczecin, is an internationally recognised group, also known to Poznań audience, for instance from their energetic show during Ethno Port Festival in 2012. Their musical inspirations are rooted in the native folk sounds of the broadly understood oriental traditions – from the Balkans, through Israel, Kurdistan, Belarus to India, therefore they call their style “Music of the four corners of the East”. The Balkan and Gypsy themes are probably the most prominent in their compositions. Dikanda live means an extraordinarily emotional journey though ethnic sounds, an effervescent encounter of energy, charisma and genuine feeling. Dikanda’s characteristic trait is creating new words in the lyrics, which produce the original language of the group – “Dikandish”. --- zamek.poznan.pl
