Magda Piskorczyk has prepared CD “Mahalia” in Honor of Mahalia Jackson to celebrate the 100th Birthday Anniversary of the Queen of Gospel (October 26, 2011). "Come on Children, Let's Sing", "Lord, Search My Heart", "I'm Goin' to Live the Life I Sing About in My Song", "Keep Your Hand on the Plow" or "Go Tell It on the Mountain" are only a few examples from a very long list of the songs, which became worldwide known and close to millions people due to Mahalia. These songs enchanted Magda Piskorczyk too.

The album includes 15 songs produced and arranged by Magda on the old and beautiful tradition, in which joy and energy interlace with the passion of worship and deep reflection. Magda has performed gospel and spiritual songs many times in Poland, Germany, Sweden, Hungary and France. In 2008 she gave a series of concerts with her band at the City Sings Gospel Festival in Liverpool. There she performed also at the Hope Street Festival and during the final concert in the Metropolitan Cathedral, broadcast by the BBC Radio. --- cdbaby.com

Album przygotowany przez Magdę Piskorczyk z okazji 100-lecia urodzin Mahalii Jackson (26.10.2011), zawierający interpretacje 15 utworów znanych z repertuaru Królowej Muzyki Gospel. "Come on Children, Let's Sing", "Lord, Search My Heart", "Trouble of the World ", "Keep Your Hand on the Plow" czy "Go Tell It on the Mountain" to tylko niektóre z wielu pieśni, które dzięki Mahalii Jackson stały się bliskie milionom ludzi na całym świecie. Niewątpliwie zaczarowały także Magdę Piskorczyk, która zaaranżowała je na swój sposób, nawiązując do pięknej i starej tradycji gospel, gdzie radość i żywiołowość przeplatają się z żarem modlitwy i głęboką refleksją.

Magda Piskorczyk, tradycyjnie już będąca producentem muzycznym swego albumu, znana jest z tego, że prezentuje muzykę, która często wymyka się prostym klasyfikacjom i przekracza bariery gatunków. I tak też jest na tej płycie, gdzie przenikają się: czarny gospel, swing, blues, rock, country, retro pop i soul...

Magdzie towarzyszy jej zespół w składzie: Aleksandra Siemieniuk (gitara elektryczna, barytonowa, dobro i akustyczna), Roman Ziobro (kontrabas), Maksymilian Ziobro (perkusja), Stanisław Witta (pianino i Hammond). W czterech utworach śpiewa chór Gospel Band: Magdalena Supeł (aranżacje chóru), Małgorzata Stępień, Joanna Mews, Mariusz Odwarzny, Michał Mielczarek. W jednym utworze usłyszeć można puzon Jacka Namysłowskiego.

Magda Piskorczyk śpiewała pieśni gospel wielokrotnie w Polsce, w Niemczech, w Szwecji, na Węgrzech i we Francji. W 2008 roku dała szereg koncertów z zespołem w Liverpoolu w ramach festiwalu City Sings Gospel, także w trakcie Festiwalu Hope Street oraz koncertu finałowego w Metropolitan Cathedral, transmitowanego przez BBC.
