Georgia Washboard Stompers includes: 
Jake Fenderson (vocals); 
Taft Jordan, Carl Wade, Elmer Williams, Steve Washington, Ghost Howell.

 

An early washboard jazz band assembled by Decca records that recorded two sessions in New York in August 1934 and July 1935. Composed of Taft Jordan on trumpet, Carl Wade/Elmer Williams on tenor saxophone/clarinet, Ben Smith on alto saxophone, Steve Washington on banjo/guitar, George "Ghost" Howell on bass, Jake Fenderson on washboard/vocals, and occasionally Eddie Foster and an unknown trio on vocals. Piano player on both sessions is unknown. Their complete recordings can be found on the Jazz Oracle release "The Georgia Washboard Stompers 1934-35". --- pc-pdx.com
