It is now four in the morning here, the sky brightens... have opened all windows and am listening to the weightless, cool, but so warm music – fresh air, a double portion... About a minute before the sunrise, all birds become silent, even the morning breeze abates – they are waiting for the miracle – and the sun rises... At this minute of silence, your thoughts, water, air – are the purest and the most transparent, fair and... I have no words to express. But – Yulia Roma's singing sounds just as that minute of silence before the sunrise, as if blue eyes of a child three-month old, attentively and easily... Music of this voice transforms jazz into soft crystal, it is so masterful that it does not attract any superfluous attention – but you cannot actually stop listening, noticing, feeling – and the sun rises, and the heart elates... And when it sings as willow smells gently in the spring – it is right. When you listen to new music and understand that one more real beauty has appeared in the world – it is right. When the transparency of songs goes somewhat beyond the limits of jazz even, not outlining new border – it is right. Now it seems to me that I understand this palpitation, and I know how it is necessary to listen to "Heartbeats". It is necessary to listen not even to the album, not to the singing – but through it. Attentively and easily – it is indispensable. And then this voice lets you in – there, where there is space, and it is fair, and bright... ---Anton Jozhik Leyba (Hedgehog), umka.com
