Alison Krauss and Robert Plant,
The Mill at Lebanon
October 18, 2007, Lebanon, Tennessee

From 2007-2008, Plant recorded and performed with bluegrass star Alison Krauss. Plant and Krauss began an extended tour of the US and Europe in April 2008, playing music from Raising Sand and other American roots music as well as reworked Led Zeppelin tunes. The album was nominated for the Mercury Prize in July 2008. On 8 February 2009, Plant and Krauss won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Pop Collaboration with Vocals, Country Collaboration with Vocals, and Contemporary Folk/Americana Album.

A Hundred Miles or More: A Collection is a compilation album. It was released on April 3, 2007, and is a collection of new and old songs that Krauss has recorded. It features duets with Sting, Brad Paisley, John Waite, and James Taylor. The album debuted and peaked at #10 on the U.S. Billboard 200, and at #3 on the U.S. Top Country Albums, and #38 on the UK Albums Chart. Two singles were released from the album. The first, a cover song of the John Waite song, "Missing You", reached #34 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The second single, "Simple Love", failed to chart.

Although the subtitle suggests that A HUNDRED MILES OR MORE is just a standard greatest hits set, this anthology is actually something far more useful. The career-spanning 16-track set gathers nearly all of Alison Krauss's soundtrack appearances, guest shots on other folks' albums, tribute songs, and a handful of other rarities. By gathering all this material in one place, it's a hugely useful album for fans, but on its own musical merits, A HUNDRED MILES OR MORE contains some of Alison Krauss's best work.

Jerry Douglas (Dobro and harmony vocals).

Paper Airplane was produced by the band and recorded in Nashville with engineer Mike Shipley (Maroon 5, The Cars, Def Leppard, Joni Mitchell). As bluegrass virtuosos the members of Union Station are beyond compare, and the music they create together transcends all genres. Their work on films such as Cold Mountain and O Brother, Where Art Thou has contributed immeasurably to a renaissance of American roots music.
