Home for Christmas is the second Christmas release for Celtic Woman, and it is beautifully done.

Celtic Woman consists of Chloë Agnew, Lisa Lambe, Méav Ní Mhaolchatha, and Máiréad Nesbitt, who is a phenomenal fiddle player. They all sing wonderfully, and the harmonies are exceptional. Of course, the group does an excellent job on serious holiday numbers, such as "I'll Be Home for Christmas," where Lambe does a sensitive, stirring version that sets up a tender and nostalgic mood.

For the traditional hymns of Christmas, the beautiful voices and harmonies work well. "We Three Kings" receives a solemn and majestic treatment. "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" may send shivers up your spine and has a lovely choir. "Silent Night" is absolutely beautiful, as fans would certainly expect from this group.

Agnew sings in Latin for "Adeste Fideles," giving the familiar "O Come All Ye Faithful" even more depth and resonance. Mhaolchatha provides a beautiful and poignant "What Child Is This?" and "Joy to the World" is triumphant with the addition of orchestra and marvelous fiddle playing from Nesbitt.

But these Irish ladies also do a surprisingly enjoyable job on lighter Christmas fare. Agnew sounds slyly mischievous on "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," while "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" features excellent group vocals and is greatly enhanced by Nesbitt's fiddling. "Winter Wonderland," with its whispered beginning rising to the happy vocals, is an absolute delight. The spiritual, "Mary's Boy Child," is a surprising choice but is done very well here.

Do not expect much of a Celtic sound; aside from the fiddle or the pipes in the arrangements. These songs could have been done by a talented and polished group of female performers anywhere. But the music is stirring, lush and gorgeous, and you will certainly want to add this to your Christmas collection. It is a perfect background for holiday dinners, quiet family gatherings, or large cocktail parties, as well as for relaxing and listening alone. --- Rhetta Akamatsu, blogcritics.org

Celtic Woman is a female vocal ensemble that performs a mix of Celtic, New Age, and adult contemporary music. Often compared to such artists as Clannad, Enya, and Loreena McKennitt, Celtic Woman first rose to acclaim with an energetic stage show that shared much in common with similarly-minded productions like Riverdance (whose music director, David Downes, was the driving force behind Celtic Woman's formation in 2004). The group's first performance was filmed by PBS in 2004 and broadcast one year later, accompanied by a wildly popular CD and DVD. Although intended to be the group's only release, the album climbed to the top of the Billboard World Music chart and stayed there for a record-setting 81 weeks, thus setting the stage for Celtic Woman's long career. Celtic Woman began touring heavily, sometimes logging as many as 35 weeks a year on the road. While a series of PBS specials ensured that the ladies remained on America's TV screens, additional album releases helped them remain on the charts. The holiday-themed A Christmas Celebration appeared in 2006, with A New Journey following in 2007. Both albums topped the World Music chart, and A New Journey even acheived some crossover success by peaking at number four on the Billboard 2000. Meanwhile, several members of Celtic Woman's shifting lineup also released solo albums, although none of them fared as well as the group's own records. Released in 2008, The Greatest Journey combined material from Celtic Woman's older albums with several new songs. It was followed two years later by Songs from the Heart, which found the group mixing some contemporary covers into its repetoire. ---Matt Colar, allmusic.com

Celtic Woman is pleased to release a special Limited Edition album of sweet and beautiful lullabies. A compilation of their most-recognized soothing songs from their past albums mixed with brand-new songs, this heartfelt collection of lullabies will relax both children and adults. From the world reknown "Brahm's Lullabye" and "Hush Little Baby (Mockingbird)" to Disney classics "When You Wish Upon A Star" (from Pinocchio) and "Stay Awake" (from Mary Poppins), Lullaby will calm the most restless listener of all ages. --- Editorial Reviews

This is a nice addition to the Celtic Woman collection but I was disappointed that there are only 10 tracks on the album and out of the 10 tracks only 6 of them are new and the other 4 tracks are reused from previous albums. They also don't include any tracks by new Celtic Woman singer Lisa Lambe. I don't see why they waited so long to release this album as there are songs on here by Lynn Hilary who left Celtic Woman a few months back right after Alex Sharpe left. But the biggest disappointment about this CD was the packaging that the record label decided to put it in, they didn't put it in a standard jewel case, they packaged it in a cardboard digipak and it does't include a booklet with artowrk or lyrics either. For the price that they are charging as i bought 2 copies last night for 11.99 at Best Buy they could have packaged it in a jewel case with an artwork booklet just like all their previous albums. All in all for the die-hard Celtic Woman collector such as I it is a must have. ---Jim Gardner

Celtic Woman: Lullaby is the sixth studio album by the group Celtic Woman set for release on 15 February 2011. This album was originally released exclusively through donations made to PBS stations back in November 2010 to support the Songs from the Heart television specials.

This is the second album where seven members (both current and previous) appear together, the first one being Celtic Woman: The Greatest Journey. The inspiration for this album came from fans who loved the lullabys performed by the group. Some songs have been taken from films such as Pinocchio and Mary Poppins. Some of the songs, such as Goodnight My Angel, Over the Rainbow, and Walking in the Air, are re-releases from the group's previous albums. Hush Little Baby is currently their shortest song to date.
