Dilermando Reis - violão

Dilermando Reis was an important figure of the Brazilian violão (acoustic guitar) from the '30s until the '70s. As a soloist, he had a romantic quality and chose his repertoire accordingly, in the best tradition of Brazilian seresta. As a composer, he left some important jewels, like the choro "Magoado." In this compilation, a few of his biggest hits are present, like "Sons de Carrilhões." Dilermando was not a virtuosic violonista such as the Abreu and Assad brothers, Rafael Rabello, and so many other Brazilians, but is an important figure in Brazilian music. ---Alvaro Neder, AllMusic Review
