In 1978, fleeing away from military dictatorship, he moved to Brasil, where he played with Agua de Milton Nascimento . Four years later he moved back to Argentina and joined protest-rock bands Los Twist and Los Abuelos De La Nada.

In the middle eighties, during the cultural wave of Movida movement, he moved to Madrid to share unbridled festive energy, joining punk band Torredos Muertos. There he published his disc “Lions in love”, where funk and reggae beats mix with latin accents.

Upon his return to Buenos Aires, he rediscovered the virtues of tango combined with poems sang in lunfardo slang. Working as a TV presenter, he was encuraging return to the roots and published multiple albums: Tango bajos in 1998. and Ufa in 2003.

In 2004. guitarist Eduardo Makaroff, Argentinian part of Gotan Project invited Melingo to join the label. He publishes Mañana, that will open the door to his European career. Public discovers this dandy with comedian manners who bewitches the audience with his attitude and hoarse voice. ---last.fm
