The very first releases -- e.g. the singles "Stasera Che Sera", "Cavallo Bianco", "Per un'Ora d'Amore", "Solo Tu" and "Mister Mandarino" and the albums Matia Bazar (1976), Gran Bazar (1977) and the anthology L'Oro dei Matia Bazar -- showcased the band's ability to build well-crafted and lush pop songs, made unique by the huge extension and versatility of Ruggiero's voice. In 1978 the song "… E Dirsi Ciao" (from Semplicità finished first at that year's edition of the Sanremo Music Festival. The live album Tournée and Il Tempo del Sole followed respectively in 1979 and 1980.

With 1981's Berlino Parigi Londra Matia Bazar introduced strong electronic elements in its sound. Immediately after its release, Cassano quit the band to pursue a new career as a producer (he would later work with Eros Ramazzotti), replaced by Mauro Sabbione. 1983's Tango included one of Matia Bazar's most successful singles, "Vacanze Romane", and was followed one year later by Aristocratica, in which debuted new keyboardist Sergio Cossu. In 1985 the band reached the top notches of the Italian charts for the last time with "Ti Sento" (a.k.a. "I Feel You", in its English translation), taken from the album Melanchòlia, the first recorded after the band quit ways with producer Roberto Colombo. After 1987's Melò and 1989's Red Corner Antonella Ruggiero quit the band in order to start a solo career, and was replaced by Laura Valente, whose voice can be heard on Anime Pigre (1991), Dove le Canzoni Si Avverano (1993, including the single "Dedicato a Te") and, Radio Matia (1995, a collection of new versions of older songs) and Benvenuti a Sausalito (1997). In the meantime, Marrale too had quit the band. In 1998 founding member Aldo Stellita died of cancer.

A new line-up of Matia Bazar including Golzi, the returning Cassano, Fabio Perversi on keyboards and singer Silvia Mezzanotte debuted in 2000 with Brivido Caldo. 2001's Dolce Canto and 2002's Messaggi dal Vivo followed -- the latter, a live album, included the song "Messaggi d'Amore", with which Matia Bazar won 2002's Sanremo Music Festival. Then, with new singer Roberta Faccani, the band released Profili Svelati (2005) and One1 Two2 Three3 Four4 (2007), a collection of hits from other Italian bands from the 60s on. ---Aurelio Pasini, Rovi

download: uploaded anonfiles mega 4shared mixturecloud yandex mediafire ziddu

back

Matia Bazar - Gran Bazar (1977)

<img src="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Latin/MatiaBazar/granbazar.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed. Other original members of the band were Piero Cassano and Carlo Marrale, who had previously performed in Jet, and Giancarlo Golzi, from Museo Rosembach. Their first performances were in small student clubs, and in the middle of 1975, they relocated to Milan. Antonella Ruggiero, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts, joined the band soon after they set up shop in Milan, and the core of Matia Bazar was established. The band released their first single, "Sta Sera Che Sera," soon afterwards.

Their next big break came with the 1978 Festival de Sanremo, where their song "E Dirsi Ciao" won an award. The festival was televised on Intervision, giving the band their first international audiences and helping to establish them in Europe, the United States, and Mexico. In 1979, they completed their first tour of Europe and South America and won an honorable mention for their song "Raggio di Luna" at the Eurovision song contest. In the early '80s, Piero Cassano left the group and was replaced by Sergio Cossu, who helped push the band into a new electronic phase of their career. Every aspect of their sound became electronic, with the exception of Ruggiero's vocals. Their music ranged from the electronic sounds that were gracing the discoteques of the time to the label that the German magazine Stern applied to their music "tango-rock." The band was releasing albums and singles at a dizzying pace up through the mid-'80s: recording during the autumn and winter, releasing in the spring, and touring in the summer, every year. 1986's release Mel'o, which had been their most successful album to date, marked the end of their electronic era, and after 1988's Red Corner, Antonella Ruggiero left the band and they went on hiatus until 1991 when they changed labels and hired a new vocalist, Laura Valente. Valente had been hired as a pianist and vocalist, but she also proved to be a skilled guitarist and made a major contribution to the band's new sound. After a prolonged tour, Carlo Marrale left the group and for the first time it became a quartet. 1997 brought a successful album, Benvenuti a Sausalito, and in 1998, founding member Aldo Stilita left the group because of a long illness. Matia Bazar regrouped and in 1999 signed a new recording contract with group members Piero Cassano, Silvia Midnight, Giancarlo Golzi, and Fabio Perversi. — Stacia Proefrock, Rovi

--- rockol.it

download: uploaded anonfiles mega 4shared mixturecloud yandex mediafire ziddu

back

Matia Bazar - Matia Bazar 1 (1976)

<img src="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Latin/MatiaBazar/matiabazar1.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed.

---Aurelio Passini, Rovi

Matia Bazar - włoska grupa muzyczna, grająca muzykę popularną.

---Aurelio Passini, Rovi

Matia Bazar - włoska grupa muzyczna, grająca muzykę popularną.
