Nothing wrong with that, it's what she's needed to do to bring in the bacon over the years. So, I've used some tracks from this Blues based album to establish a framework to add on other tracks so as to build up a satisfactory Mp3 file of 18 of her songs ( 77 minutes ) from her various albums, resulting in a selection of more hard hitting RnB and Blues styles than some of her other offerings. I've now got a good representation of stuff of her's that I like. The job is done and I like what I've got, really well performed songs with raw, emotional, attitudes. ---E. As I was looking at the cards, she said, ‘Mama, that’s what you do. You sing the blues for everybody.’ During so many of my performances, a fan will come up to me to say, ‘You were singing that song for me. That’s why I came!’ I take these compliments as stars in my crown, like flowers in my garden.”</p> <p>I’ll Sing the Blues for You is Trudy Lynn’s 12th solo album and her third release on the Connor Ray Music label, following up on 2014’s Royal Oaks Blues Café, which hit #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart; and 2015’s Everything Comes with A Price, which spent four months on the Living Blues Radio Chart. Trudy is also a five-time Blues Music Award nominee and was inducted into the Houston Music Hall of Fame in 2015.</p> <p>Trudy Lynn was born Lee Audrey Nelms in Houston’s Fifth Ward, where she began singing as a teenager. After high school, Lynn went to visit her aunt in Lufkin, where a club called the Cinderella needed a singer. She decided Lee Audrey Nelms wasn’t going to cut it as a stage name. The club had a bunch of cartoon character names painted on the wall and she noticed “Trudy,” which she quickly paired with Lynn. “Lynn was something in those days,” she recalls. “Gloria Lynne, Barbara Lynn. I thought, ‘I’m going to be one of those Lynns, too, baby.’”</p> <p>Prior to striking out on her own, Trudy was the vocalist for such Texas greats as I.J. Gosey and Clarence Green, where Trudy spent five years as the vocalist for his band. Green was a stern mentor, but Lynn credits him with helping her become a professional. “He molded me well,” she says. “He’s still in me because of what he taught me. It takes that.” After leaving Green’s band, Lynn began performing on her own. For years she struggled to get recorded in a manner deserving of her talent, until 1989 when Trudy signed with John Abbey’s famed Ichiban label and provided the opportunity for her to tour the world and perform at the most prestigious festivals, including Lucerne and the Chicago Blues Festival. While at Ichiban, producers had a strong hand in directing her recordings. Since joining forces with harmonica wizard Steve Krase and the Connor Ray Music label in 2014, Lynn has played curator for herself. She has been writing original songs that blend nicely with the vintage material. The songs are mostly about good times and bad men. “Each one of these songs means something to me,” she states. “I truly understand something about each one of them.” --- markpuccimedia.com</p> <p>download (mp3 @320 kbs):</p> <p><a href="https://yadi.sk/d/czFT1C1tyYsDP" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">yandex </a> <a href="http://www.4shared.com/zip/ot7WbJB8ba/TrdLnn-ISTBFY16.html" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">4shared </a> <a href="https://mega.nz/#!OEdgRCJZ!MjsY7_P8K3nzKDiHjy4L92jN97S8niEAO6pU5dPVS5M" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">mega </a> <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/file/18zkxfalvux28b7/TrdLnn-ISTBFY16.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">mediafire</a> <a href="https://cloud.mail.ru/public/AVZE/fmc2ZvWYF" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">cloudmailru </a> <a href="http://ge.tt/2MLVJ5h2" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">ge.tt</a></p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/javascript:history.back();">back</a></p> <p><strong>Trudy Lynn - I’ll Sing The Blues For You (2016)</strong></p> <p><img src="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Blues/TrudyLynn/illsing.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed. Payin' the Price </em></pre> <p> </p> <p>I have been a long time admirer of Trudy, so it gives me great pleasure to review this album. Trudy has joined forces with Calvin Owens and his Blues Orchestrato to create a slighty old feel to this 14 track album, which features 8 songs written by Trudy's long time friend Rue Davis and 3 written by Trudy. The album was produced by Calvin and his production team of Marvin Sparks and Andy Bradley. Harrison Calloway the legendary arranger also was involved in this project along with Calvin's horn arranger Nelson Mills. The album is a kind of throwback to the sixties and that is exactly why this project works so well, the orchestra and Trudy gel together to produce a well crafted set of songs. One thing I must add, this is not, despite the title, a Trudy Lynn album, it is more a Calvin Owens album with Trudy as the featured singer on 10 tracks and Nelson Mills on 1 track and 3 instrumentals.</p> <p>The album starts with the snappy "Swing Boogie", the first of Rue Davis's songs, Trudy's vocal gets into full flight from the start and full marks to the crisp horn section lead by Nelson Mills. Nelson is the featured vocalist on "Hands Off My Woman" and on "Starry Eyes" an instrumental which he wrote, his trumpet skills are to the fore. Trudy wrote the album's title song "I'm Still Here", it's a slow big ballard type song, lamenting that whilst Trudy has been around the world and done so much, she is still here, unlike some of her fellow performers who have passed away, Trudy name checks some of them. Trudy also wrote "Everybody's Got A Blues Song To Sing" which is a nice mid-paced song with Nelson Mills playing a scorching trumpet solo and with Trudy's strong vocal, this is a winner. I particularly liked the instrumental "Boogie Woogie Gumbo" with it's nod to Zydeco music, which features the late guitar supremeo Clarence Holliman and his wonderful playing which as always, is a delight. Jabo "The Texas Prince of Zydeco" is also featured on accordion. The almost pop sounding Rue Davis song "You're The Only One" is Trudy at her best. "Welcome Home Baby" another of Rue's songs is my favourite and it has class stamped on it, Trudy is so silky smooth on it. The orchestra throughout are in tip top form, with great arrangements and some great soloists. The icing on the cake, is Trudy with her strong soulful delivery, which makes this, a great album. I would not hesitate to recomend this album. ---Dave Thomas, mnblues.com</p> <p>download (mp3 @192 kbs):</p> <p><a href="http://ul.to/rzlvt9jn" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">uploaded </a> <a href="https://yadi.sk/d/jsrlvTgOeY5c6" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">yandex </a> <a href="http://www.4shared.com/zip/sHtzbNAGba/TrdLnn-ISH07.html" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">4shared </a> <a href="https://mega.co.nz/#!vA4H0QSY!VviwX8tYGxlZYcCOsQLpx0-n6EzQ25GDiXV2Sds7b-M" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">mega </a> <a href="http://www.solidfiles.com/d/e2308e79c2/TrdLnn-ISH07.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">solidfiles</a> <a href="http://zalivalka.ru/197684" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">zalivalka </a> <a href="https://cloud.mail.ru/public/60d35f0530a6/Trudy%20Lynn%20With%20The%20Calvin%20Owens%20Blues%20Orchestra%20-%20I'm%20Still%20Here%20(2007).zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">cloudmailru </a> <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/rjbzd80j7rgo1i8/TrdLnn-ISH07.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">mediafire</a> <a href="https://www.oboom.com/KDPQINH4/TrdLnn-ISH07.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">oboom </a></p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/javascript:history.back();">back</a></p> <p><strong>Trudy Lynn With The Calvin Owens Blues Orchestra - I'm Still Here (2007)</strong></p> <p><img src="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Blues/TrudyLynn/imstillhere.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed. ---Dave Thomas, mnblues.com</p> <p>download (mp3 @192 kbs):</p> <p><a href="http://ul.to/rzlvt9jn" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">uploaded </a> <a href="https://yadi.sk/d/jsrlvTgOeY5c6" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">yandex </a> <a href="http://www.4shared.com/zip/sHtzbNAGba/TrdLnn-ISH07.html" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">4shared </a> <a href="https://mega.co.nz/#!vA4H0QSY!VviwX8tYGxlZYcCOsQLpx0-n6EzQ25GDiXV2Sds7b-M" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">mega </a> <a href="http://www.solidfiles.com/d/e2308e79c2/TrdLnn-ISH07.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">solidfiles</a> <a href="http://zalivalka.ru/197684" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">zalivalka </a> <a href="https://cloud.mail.ru/public/60d35f0530a6/Trudy%20Lynn%20With%20The%20Calvin%20Owens%20Blues%20Orchestra%20-%20I'm%20Still%20Here%20(2007).zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">cloudmailru </a> <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/rjbzd80j7rgo1i8/TrdLnn-ISH07.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">mediafire</a> <a href="https://www.oboom.com/KDPQINH4/TrdLnn-ISH07.zip" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href,'newwin','left=27,width=960,height=720,menubar=1,toolbar=1,scrollbars=1,status=1,resizable=1');return false;">oboom </a></p> <p> </p> <p><a href="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/javascript:history.back();">back</a></p> Trudy Lynn – Royal Oaks Blues Cafe (2013) 2015-01-31T19:59:44Z 2015-01-31T19:59:44Z http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/en/blues/4623-trudy-lynn/17262-trudy-lynn--royal-oaks-blues-cafe-2013.html bluesever administration@theblues-thatjazz.com <p><strong>Trudy Lynn – Royal Oaks Blues Cafe (2013)</strong></p> <p><img src="http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/ObrMuz/Blues/TrudyLynn/royaloaks.jpg" border="0" alt="Image could not be displayed.
