The rhythm and blues harp vocabulary available to the Honeyboy has been acquired in the only way possible, years on years of playing the harp with R n' B acts in smoky venues and recording studios.

His time with Steve Marriot started the idea that was to become the R 'n'B album featuring songs that a harp player would choose. "Sleeping in the ground", "Don't believe in nothing", "Cant hold out much longer" and even a version of "La Cucaracha" that will put a smile on the bluest heart. Recorded at John Entwistle's studio in 1994, the recording band features Brendan O'Neil - GERRY McAvoy - Anthony Thistlethwaite with appearances by GERAINT WATKINS - STEVE GIBBONS - THE KICK HORNS (RODDY LORIMER, TIM SAUNDERS, SIMON CLARKE) & BIG AL TAYLOR.

Recorded in a 'studio live' situation, the recording features real performances by human players, unfettered by technological intrusion. No computer processors feature in the performances. Straight from the heart playing really. ---honeyboyhickling.com

A world-class musician, Simon ‘Honeyboy’ Hickling is a blues harmonica ace with a hard earned and well-deserved international reputation. His subtle and fabulously expressive playing is grounded firmly in the ‘50s and ‘60s heyday of the Chicago and Gulf Coast styles of playing. With a tremendously experienced band backing him, Simon never fails to deliver anything less than a first-rate evenings entertainment and never lets good taste and soulfulness stifle a rockin’ night out. --- facebook.com

Two decades of blowing the harp as a way of life and Simon "Honeyboy" Hickling is now established as a virtuoso player of international repute.

His harp technique, honed through years of touring and recording, combined with a live wire stage presence and a voice that can justifiably be described as "authentic", have won over an ever increasing fan base, united in their conviction that when it comes to the thing he does, nobody does it better.

Nominated for best UK harp player (2000) in Blueprint magazine, past credits include three years of touring and recording with Steve Marriot, sharing lead vocals and playing the harp. Recordings with Bo Diddley, Paul Rodgers, and occasional appearances with Anthony Thistlewaite's (EX Waterboys) Blue Stars - a session band featuring the "Kick Horns" and Mick Taylor.

Simon's own band "The DT's" are currently engaged on the "Never Ending Tour".

Appearances on the Paul Jones Blues Show, and Radio 2 programmes, along with show stopping performances at many of Europe's largest Blues Festivals have increased his fan base still further. --- movinmusic.co.uk
